Letting Go to Find Flow
I’ve just returned from an unforgettable weekend retreat at the beautiful Villa Bauhinia in Provence, and I’m still absorbing the richness of the experience.
Over the course of two days, we brought together three seemingly very different practices: Aikido, improvisation, and hypnosis.
At first glance, they might sound like an unusual mix. But in practice, they came together in a way that was both surprising and deeply meaningful.
More Than Just Techniques — A Shared Experience of Flow
This retreat wasn’t about learning “how to do” something. It was about allowing ourselves to be. To move. To notice. To play. To let go of overthinking, and reconnect with instinct and presence.
Through Aikido, we explored the principle of non-resistance: meeting tension not with force, but with fluidity and redirection.
Through improvisation, we stepped into spontaneity: rediscovering playfulness and creativity without the pressure of performance.
And through hypnosis, we accessed deeper layers of awareness: helping the body and mind integrate those experiences in a calm, grounded way.
Together, these practices created a space for something rare: true presence without pressure.
What Participants Said
Many people came with a sense of tension or disconnection, from their bodies, their instincts, or their ability to just be.
By the end of the weekend, there was a noticeable shift. Faces were softer. Breathing was slower. Movements were more fluid.
Several people described feeling “lighter,” “more centred,” or even “back in touch with something I hadn’t realised I’d lost.”
A Heartfelt Thank You
To everyone who joined us: thank you. You brought openness, curiosity, and a willingness to explore the unknown. That made all the difference.
And a special thank you to Sylvie and David, our generous hosts at Villa Bauhinia, whose warmth and hospitality created the perfect setting for this work. Their beautiful home, nestled in nature, offered the ideal backdrop for slowing down and tuning in.
What’s Next?
If you’re someone who carries a lot of mental noise, physical tension, or emotional pressure , this kind of experience may offer more than just “relaxation.” It’s a chance to reset the system at a deeper level.
I’ll be running more events like this in the future, both in France and the UK. If you’d like to be the first to know, feel free to get in touch.
Until then, remember:
Sometimes change doesn’t come from pushing harder.
It comes from letting go just enough to find your natural flow.
